Yelena Blond moved to the U.S. from Ukraine in 1994, but as she mastered the English language, she brought with her a unique skill that made her new U.S. friends take notice: Sewing with a personal touch.
As the former owner of Rydell’s Tailoring, Yelena has over 30 years of experience. Not only is she a master at putting together the perfect look for her clients, but she also is an expert at making each one of her customers feel at home. When you visit Thread the Needle, you will come in a stranger, and leave as a well-dressed friend.

Brandon Thornton
Born and raised in the heart of KCMO, Brandon’s passion and purpose was not immediately apparent growing up. Through hard work and dedication, Brandon has exposed himself to an extensive experience in the fashion world. As our lead Sartorial Stylist and founder of the Breaux Stylez Experience, Brandon curates to what you envision for your wedding day or special events.
Joseph Blond
Born into a family of tailors, Joseph has been around sewing all his life. Growing up, he began his journey by sewing together small coin pouches and other novelties as a kid. His hobby grew into a passion for tailoring excellence as he apprenticed in his family’s tailor shop and mastered the art of sewing. He believes that every fabric sets a tone and every stitch writes a story, so he puts precision and perfection into his craft.
Together, Brandon and Joseph blend sartorial style and tailoring excellence. Brandon’s unparalleled creativity and Joseph’s technical expertise mean that you are in the hands of a dream team when you step into Thread the Needle.
